I love Tig Notaro. Tig Notaro is a national treasure. But even as a joke, someone who survived cancer should never begin an Instagram post this way. It’s just mean.

OK, yes: The payoff is ultimately worth it. But only barely, and only because Tig Notaro has experienced enough to put the rest of us through the wringer for her own enjoyment. And for what it’s worth, she’s great in what little I’ve seen of her in Starfleet Academy, so far.
