Yes, Abigail Spencer of Suits, Timeless and Mad Men, we all feel the same.

I mean, how dare she! Without even trying, Priyanka Chopra managed to steal the spotlight from a princess. On her wedding day no less! Luckily for Priyanka, Meghan Markle’s a pal, so I’m sure there are no hurt feelings. But she looked so gorgeous that my feelings were hurt. While I’m waiting for my apology, here’s what I’m talking about.

Since my invitation was apparently lost in the mail, I don’t know if there was a specific dress code, but from the looks of things, matronly monochrome was the order of the day. Priyanka probably saw that and was like, “yes, I can do that. But fashion, Ok?”. She somehow made what should have been a stuffy little washed out purple suit into a ravishing bouquet of violet “hachachacha!”.

Again, how dare she!

Priyanka’s damn nerve didn’t stop at the ceremony either. Later that day she changed into a Dior shroud of summer stars for the private reception held at Frogmore House, the royal retreat.

I’m like, Priyanka! Could you not? Some of us are out here trying to live our lives with our edges intact and don’t need to be reminded that we could never, not in a million years. To which she answered, well, nothing. Priyanka ain’t got time for us mortals and our little problems!

Except she does. This queen hopped on a plane the very next day to visit a refugee camp in Bangladesh as a global UNICEF Goodwill ambassador, an organization she’s been repping for over a decade.

I’m in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh today for a field visit with UNICEF, to one of the largest refugee camps in the world. In the second half of 2017, the world saw horrific images of ethnic cleansing from the Rakhine State of Myanmar(Burma). This violence drove nearly 700,000 Rohingya across the border into Bangladesh - 60% are children! Many months later they are still highly vulnerable, living in overcrowded camps with no idea when or where they will ever belong…even worse, when they will get their next meal. AND…as they finally start to settle and feel a sense of safety, monsoon season looms…threatening to destroy all that they’ve built so far. This is an entire generation of children that have no future in sight. Through their smiles I could see the vacancy in their eyes. These children are at the forefront of this humanitarian crisis, and they desperately need our help. The world needs to care. We need to care. These kids are our future. Priyanka is one of the most beautiful women I’ve ever seen. Isn’t it wild to think that she’s the same species as us? And made of flesh and bone, just like you and me.
