I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: DeuxMoi suuuuuuuucks.
The bafflingly popular blind gossip-slash-casual stalker instigator of Instagram has a bad habit of sharing obviously fake submissions and perpetuating harmful nonsense against certain celebrities. She’s still doubling down on her evidently false blind that Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn got married, and now, she’s trying to stir up trouble with one of comedy’s most beloved couples.

In the DeuxMoi newsletter, a thing that sadly exists, she shared an ‘exclusive blind item’ that alleged that ‘two married costars of a popular and long running sitcom have quietly separated after the husband cheated on her in Wales.’ With the subject line ‘not always sunny’, it was clear that the allegation was about Rob McElhenney and Kaitlin Olson, the married co-stars of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. McElhenney spends a lot of time in Wales as the co-owner of Wrexham F.C., and it was probably pretty easy to spin a story of infidelity in the magical sex land of the Welsh countryside.
This story spread like wildfire because, for some godforsaken reason, too many people take every single DeuxMoi submission as gospel, even the ones that read like they were submitted by a deranged stan trying to stir up hatred against some random woman (or the girlfriend of their favourite, you know who you are.) But stuff relies on the people being accused not acknowledging them. Avoiding confrontation is typically a smart move, even when you’re being waylaid by jackassery, because you risk further fuelling the fire. But Kaitlin Olson decided to shut down the matter anyway because she’s great and funny and DeuxMoi sucks.

Look, this is a smart move on Olson’s part. The orcas are rising and will soon take over land. Why not get in there early and assert your dominance as the whale’s human consort? I for one welcome our new aquatic mammal overlords and their queen who eats like a bird.
McElhenney responded accordingly.

This is funny, but also f**k DeuxMoi, who immediately justified spreading lies with an excuse that boiled down to, ‘I’m not a liar, I’m just a big dumb-dumb.’

You guys, she just picks lies out of a hat and shares them unchecked and unquestioned with her huge readership. She didn’t know that she, a brand with a book and TV deal who constantly cites herself as a reliable gossip maven, would be listened to! Such a smol bean. Poor ickle thing.
I’ve made my disdain for DeuxMoi known before. Hey, remember when she basically said that Constance Wu was lying about her experiences with sexual misconduct on the set of Fresh Off the Boat? The North remembers!
DeuxMoi has a total lack of quality control, coupled with an endless denial of responsibility and a willingness to pander to conspiratorial losers. They frequently pair up with Crazy Days and Nights, a QAnon-adjacent hell-hole with a disclaimer on their site admitting they literally just make sh** up. I know we were all really bored during lockdown and some unqualified loser with an Instagram account sharing low-stakes stories about celebrities seemed like a fun way to pass the time, but elevating them to this level of legitimacy is so toxic. At least Olson and McElhenney shut this crap down before it spread.
I bet Mac and Dee would love DeuxMoi.
