Justin Timberlake Apologizes To 'F*cking Nobody' Before Performing 'Cry Me A River'

Earlier this week, Britney Spears very classily (and unnecessarily, in my opinion) apologized to Justin Timberlake for writing about their relationship in her memoir, The Woman in Me. She also complimented Justin's new single, "Selfish". You know, that meh-ass song that immediately got trolled by Britney-stans.

So. How did Justin return the favor? Last night, before singing his 2002 anti-Britney hit "Cry Me a River" at his birthday concert in New York City, he told the audience, "I'd like to take this opportunity to apologize to absolutely f*cking nobody." That cocky little-- UGH! F-f-flames. Flames... on the side of my face. Here's the clip:

Ginuwinely, what the hell is going through Justin's head? Who told him that this was a good idea? Or is his ego so gargantuan that he refuses to listen to anyone but himself? Please note, back in November, when JT performed "Cry Me a River" for the first time since Brit's book release, he prefaced the song with, "No disrespect." So the man is actually going backwards.

The Britney shade didn't just piss of her fans, it pissed off Brit! She took to Instagram to share this:

The basketball stuff is a reference to Britney's claim that Justin would cry when she beat him on the court during their relationship. A sore loser all around.

But this incident isn't the only reason Justin is in the headlines today: February 1st is the 20th anniversary of Nipplegate. Yep, it's been two full decades since Justin exposed Janet Jackson's nipple during the Super Bowl halftime show and walked away scot-free. Janet, on the other hand, wasn't so lucky. Her career was nearly ruined.

So, in addition to pissing off Team Britney, Justin's non-apology has attracted the ire of Janet Jackson fans. "I'd like to take this opportunity to apologize to absolutely f*cking nobody" is a real "f*ck you" to the women he's thrown under the bus. Especially on the 20th anniversary of Super Bowl XXXVIII. The cheek, the nerve, the audacity, and the gumption.

In a 2021 Instagram apology, Justin('s PR team) admitted he'd "benefited from a system that condones misogyny and racism" and would try to "grow" from his mistakes. But where is this so-called growth? All I see is a petulant man-child who continues to play the victim.

Here's a passage from The Woman in Me; Britney wrote it about Justin vilifying her after their 2001 break-up. And, yes, I've quoted it before, but it really hits the Timbernail on the head:

"I felt there was no way at the time to tell my side of the story. I couldn't explain, because I knew no one would take my side once Justin had convinced the world of his version. I don't think Justin realized the power he had in shaming me. I don't think he understands to this day."

And he never will.
