Julia Louis-Dreyfus Was All Of Us Proudly Cheering For Her Benchwarmer Son's College Basketball Appearance

If you aren’t familiar with Northwestern basketball player Charlie Hall, it’s not necessarily because you don’t follow college basketball, because most people who follow college basketball have never heard of Charlie Hall. I’d wager that there are a number of Northwestern fans who don’t know Charlie Hall, because he’s played only eight minutes this season and he’s never scored a point. He never scored a point last year, either. He’s a walk-on player — basically, the team Rudy.

He’s also the son of Julia-Louis Dreyfus and Brad Hall, and with all due respect, it’s notable that the 5’3” Julia-Louis Dreyfus has a son who is even a walk-on for one of the nation’s better teams.

Anyway, during a game against Rutgers yesterday, Northwestern went on an insane 31-0 run, putting the game well out of reach, so in the final minute of the game, Northwestern brought in Charlie Hall during the Big Ten Tournament. It’s a nice moment. The best part, however, is watching Julia-Louis Dreyfus (a Northwestern alum) and Brad Hall looking on proudly at her son.

Someone should probably tell Dreyfus that she doesn’t need to take video of the moment on her phone. It’s, like, on TV.
