There’s an Australian tabloid reporting that Prince Harry of Windsor family fame and Emma Watson of Hermione Granger fame have gone on a date to a party together and that the Prince is quite smitten with young Ms.Watson. And really, who wouldn’t be? She’s an actress, a UN ambassador, and looks pretty nice in a gown.
My logical side here would like to mention that this rumor is of the sketchiest variety and should be taken with an entire salt mine, and puts a damper on my own personal wish that Prince Harry really go out on a limb and marry Rihanna. Hey, it’s not like he’ll ever be King anyway. But I am having a slight giggle over the idea that Hermione might 1. end up with (a) Harry after all and 2. have a child who is a Half-Blood Prince.
Let’s be honest, though, Watson might be too good for Harry. Is he really worth giving up her career for? I vote no. She’s about to play a princess in the live action version of Beauty and the Beast, she has all the occasions to wear fancy dresses that one could want, the paparazzi already tail her, and she’s involved in working with the UN to promote feminism and equality around the globe. She’s got basically all the dressings of being a princess without the stuffy royal etiquette and obligations. Harry seems like a nice enough guy, but I just don’t think he’s bringing that much to the table for her.
