I think we can all agree that 2020 has sucked across the board. We’re either stuck at home or struggling at work during a literal pandemic, there’s a f**king election happening in a couple of weeks time, civil unrest has sparked protests the world over, and Quibi just shut down. All that and, if you’re in certain regions of England, the new tiered COVID lockdown system means that you won’t be allowed to have sex with your partner if they don’t live in the same household as you. Jeez, just rub salt into a very open wound, why don’t you?
So praise be for Lily Allen, who has looked into the dark abyss of this moment in time and replied, ‘Nah, let’s get busy!’ The singer, who married Stranger Things star David Harbour this year, has announced a new collaboration with the sex toy company Womanizer. Yeah, baby. After recommending the toy in her recent autobiography, Womanizer reached out for a collaboration that seeks to destigmatize the act of masturbation. As Allen herself says, ‘I think the only way to make taboo subjects no longer taboo is to speak about them openly and frequently and without shame or guilt.’ Damn right. A current survey by Womanizer with 7,000 participants from 14 countries shows the Masturbation Gap between the genders is at 68%. Basically, a huge swath of the population just ain’t getting it done.
I'm really excited to reveal something I've been working on with one of my favourite brands @womanizerglobal… My very own sex toy! The Liberty is available everywhere now. Womanizer changed my life, and I wanted to share my experience. https://t.co/i7ebnhXUXt pic.twitter.com/uLLghHEZs1

Women shouldn't be ashamed of their sexuality, and we all deserve to own our pleasure. Hopefully this little toy will help you do that! #IMasturbate #LilyAllenxWomanizer. Get yours now via https://t.co/i7ebnhXUXt pic.twitter.com/tb8eMh491O

Allen and Womanizer are encouraging a more open conversation about sexuality with the Twitter hashtag #IMasturbate. It’s a great idea and I applaud it but damn, the timing given the Zoom Dick-gate story and Jeffrey Toobin.
Twitter responses — at least the non-creepy ones, because this is the internet — were enthusiastic.
Lily Allen really went “We’re in proper tough times right now, so here’s a vibrator.” And I support that. pic.twitter.com/4W3CMQyXIl

As a women’s health Physio I know lots of women who struggle to have any sort of satisfying experience for various reason so it’s really powerful that you’re speaking publicly about it.
Also, the womaniser is one of the products we recommend to clients to try. pic.twitter.com/9G8VdxOYHG
Yesrs ago, Lily Allen wrote Not Fair - a song about a guy finishing too early and not being able to give her an orgasm.

And yes, there are a lot of sh*tty men online missing the point of this. Dude, she’s not gonna f**k you. She’s got Hopper AND a clit-sucking vibrator on hand for that. You go get yours, Lily!
