The possibly former David Hasselhoff made a very strange announcement on Twitter today.

Yes, according to that video, the man who has made himself famous with a career of running on beaches, running from shark-based weather systems, and hanging with his fellow youths at Coachella, has been wanting to make his longtime nickname official.

I’ve been wanting to drop the ‘Hassel’ from my life for years. Now, I have made it official. David Hoff.
Despite how often I end up doing it, I really don’t love judging strangers’ life choices. If this makes Hassellhoff happy, good for him. But if it really is just about some feel-good yoga retreat wordplay… well, I think that’s worth an eye roll.
