Conan O'Brien Mocks the Hell out of Adam Sandler During the AARP Awards Show

A few weeks ago, Adam Sandler joked with Howard Stern that if he didn’t get an Oscar nomination for his performance in Uncut Gems that he would “f*cking come back and do one again that is so bad on purpose just to make you all pay.” He did not get an Oscar nomination. He didn’t even get a Golden Globe nomination. But he had a good sense of humor about it, anyway.

Meanwhile, he has gotten quite a collection of nominations (and even a few wins) from mostly critic societies. Two nights ago, he also managed to snag the win for Best Actor at the AARP The Magazine’s Movies for Grownups awards, which is a thing that airs on PBS, which actually makes perfect sense. Anyway, Sandler has been to a lot of awards show this season, and he is used to winners coming on stage after their names are announced.

Apparently, that’s not how it works at the AARP The Magazine’s Movies for Grownups Awards, because Conan O’Brien — who presented the award — needed to give a Sander-specific speech first, only Sandler apparently didn’t realize this and jumped the gun on approaching the stage. Conan, in turn, provided what I can only imagine was the highlight of the entire show when he roasted the hell out of Adam Sandler.
