Christina Ricci Also Thinks Jimmy Fallon Sucks for Having Conor McGregor on The Tonight Show

Christina Ricci is one of the good ones. The Yellowjackets star and the only Wednesday Addams I acknowledge has been in this business a long time but won't let that stop her from speaking out on the issues she cares about. As a spokesperson for the charity RAINN, she's been open about her experiences of domestic abuse and wanting to support those who have been through similar pain. And she's not afraid to call out an idiot or two when the occasion calls for it. This week: it's Jimmy Fallon.

One of the last remaining figures in late-night has seemingly clung onto that position by being a toady for those in power, whether it's ruffling Trump's hairpiece or showing off his NFTs or fawning over Sam Altman's inability to parent without ChatGPT. Still, even we were surprised when he had Conor McGregor on his show and spent the entire interview treating him like an idol. The disgraced UFC fighter is making a comeback despite the fact that he was recently found liable in a civil case for brutally raping a woman. The woman in question, Nikita Hand, faced years of harassment and threats for speaking out against McGregor. A masked gang broke into her home at one point.

Ricci shared this post on Instagram, detailing the horrendous violence Hand faced and how Fallon is an absolute coward for platforming him as though he was his BFF.

Shout out to Ricci for making her stance clear. If only we could get more people to do the same.

Do you think Fallon feels shame? Does he just down another cocktail to keep the self-awareness at bay? There's no way the crew at The Tonight Show was ignorant of the case against McGregor. On some level, they knew this would be a problem because they didn't share the interview or any clips on it on Twitter. It is on YouTube, and the comments are almost entirely negative. We all know that this is yet another attempt to normalize abuse against women, or to gaslight us all into pretending such things never happen. We've too many examples to name of women making credible accusations against famous men and the media throwing them under the bus to further celebrate the gross dude. But there is something especially ghoulish in this case, given the violence Nikita Hand experienced and how she won that case against McGregor. Again, she was so viciously assaulted that she had to have her tampon surgically removed.

Jimmy Fallon is just a straight-up propagandist at this point in time. He's not just a coward; he's a collaborator. He's run a toxic workplace for years, pretended he's a silly little apolitical boy while his colleagues faced censorship attacks from the government, and helped to prop up losers like Altman. I'm only surprised he didn't invite McGregor to play some Labubu 6-7 Fortnite children's party game or whatever he does in lieu of comedy. Ari Aster couldn't come up with a character this craven.
