Cap’s gotta recognize…another Captain America, right? Especially one who’s a) an actual captain in the United States Army, and b) who was wearing a Captain America t-shirt when he rescued a couple of citizens from a burning car. Hey, that’s pretty damned cool.

Off-duty Captain Steve Voglezon was on the way to a nearby mall in Durham, North Carolina when he spied the aftermath of a car crash and stopped to see if he could help. A local couple were trapped in their burning vehicle, and another person was trying to extinguish the flames with a fire extinguisher; Voglezon took over and smashed the car windows, then helped the pair evacuate the area.

“I grabbed one of the fire extinguishers and we smashed out on the back window and the driver’s side window… There wasn’t a real plan, I just had tunnel vision.

If I had not been a soldier, I would not have known what to do,” he told ABC News. “The Army has helped a lot.”

The news story made its way to the other, more famous Captain, who quickly sent out a cool note:

Nicely done, both Caps!

Here’s video of the rescue:
