Cardi B And Offset Split Up Again

In extremely-not-shocking news, Cardi B and Offset are over. Again! Last night, Cardi went on Instagram Live and responded to the recent rumors that Offset cheated on her with rapper Blueface’s ex, Chrisean Rock (Offset has denied this). Cardi said she doesn’t “care to find out” if the allegations are true, cuz she’s been “single for a minute now”, via Entertainment Weekly:

“When it comes to today’s events, I don’t think it’s true,” Cardi said during the livestream, video of which has been circulating on social media. “I don’t care to find out because I’ve been single for a minute now. I just don’t know how to tell the world, but I feel like today has been a sign.”

“The last time I got on Live I kind of wanted to tell you guys, but I didn’t know how to tell you, so I changed my mind. But it has been like this for a minute now.”

She maintained that there’s “no drama” between her and Offset, and the reason she’d been putting off telling her fans about the separation is cuz she was scared they wouldn’t understand:

“Not everything is cheating, women, this and that. Six years is a long time. A lot of arguments. Not arguments, but a lot of love.”

Cardi added that she’s excited and “curious” for a “new life, for a new beginning” in 2024. Here’s some of her Instagram Live:

Cardi and Offset, both 31, got married in 2017 and have two children together: 5-year-old Kulture and 2-year-old Wave. Offset also has three additional kids from previous relationships.

The Cardi-Offset union has had its ups and downs. The ups include the many, many wildly expensive designer bags Offset gifted Cardi over the years. The downs include the many, many cheating allegations. Here is a brief rundown of the couple’s on-and-offery:

December 2017: less than two months after Offset proposes to Cardi onstage, an explicit video surfaces that shows the rapper and a naked woman in a hotel room. Both Offset and Cardi deny the rumors, but she’s seen without her engagement ring during a public appearance on New Year’s Eve.

March 2018: Cardi tells Cosmopolitan that she knows people want her to leave Offset, and it’s “not right, what he f***ing did”, but their relationship is their business.

June 2018: Cardi, eight months pregnant with baby Kulture, admits that she and Offset have been secretly married since September 2017.

December 2018: after a year filled with even more cheating allegations, Cardi announces she and Offset are over. Ten days later, Offset very rudely crashes Cardi’s headlining set at Rolling Loud in L.A. He gets onstage with a huge floral arrangement that reads, “TAKE ME BACK, CARDI”, and begs her to give him another chance. Cardi is not pleased.

January 2019: they get back together.

December 2019: Cardi explains she took Offset back because “everybody has issues” and she believes in forgiveness. However, she adds, “For me, monogamy is the only way. I’ll beat your ass if you cheat on me.”

September 2020: after even more cheating allegations, Cardi files for divorce. However, she claims their split has nothing to do with infidelity (hey, just like she did on last night’s Instagram Live).

October 2020: Cardi reveals she and Offset have reunited because she missed her best friend and “it’s really hard to have no dick.”

November 2020: Cardi’s divorce case is officially dismissed.

September 2021: their second baby, Wave, arrives.

June 2023: Offset posts (and quickly deletes) an Instagram Story accusing Cardi of cheating on him. Cardi takes to Twitter to shut down the claims: “Listen. Don’t pay attention [to] that country man y’all.”

Last night: after weeks of alluding to relationship trouble on Instagram, Cardi confirms their most recent break-up.

Sigh. I really hope this latest split takes, because Cardi deserves better than a serial cheater, cheater, pumpkin eater.
