7 Amazing Actors Who Deserve Better Than a Broadcast Network TV Show

You know there is something seriously wrong in TV-land when Ray Romano is starring in a Scorsese drama on HBO, and Peter Krause is on some ABC cringeworthy, terrible criminal-thriller thing. I almost fell off my chair when this promo popped up during Agent Carter last night (one of the very few broadcast shows I watch). To wit:

What the fork was that?

Can someone please explain to me why established, quality actors are still signing on for broadcast network series? Have they seen the big three lately?
Is the money that good? If by some small miracle their show actually is worth watching, it’ll be cancelled just as it hits its stride (Hannibal, possibly Agent Carter).

Do they not read Pajiba?

These fine folks (and I’m betting you’ll have a few more) really need to make a permanent move to the big time.

Peter Krause (and for that matter, his co-star Mireille Enos)

Just say no…to The Catch, and get yourself back to HBO, or Netflix, or something.

Andre Braugher

I know y’all love him on Brooklyn 99, but trust my Pemblelove; Braugher deserves so much more. He needs so much scenery to munch.

Hayley Atwell (and for that matter, her co-stars James D’Arcy, Bridget Regan and Enver Gjokaj)

Here’s the thing; Agent Carter is a fun ride and it’s really hit its stride this second season! But, Atwell just signed on to a different ABC series (meaning AC is probably dead) where she’ll play a “brilliant but rebellious” daughter of a former president, blackmailed into taking a job as the head of LA’s Conviction Integrity Unit? Uh, no thank you. Hayley, you can do so much better. And, we’ll sure miss Peggy.

Clark Gregg

I don’t even need to say anything here, do I?

Kerry Washington

I know people are hooked on Olivia Pope, and Washington’s been Emmy nominated for her Scandalous performance, but this woman should be leading a True Detective, or better. And hey, I know just who her partner should be…

Gillian Anderson

Can we all just agree this X-Files reunion (save “Were-Monster”) never should have happened? With The Fall, Gillian’s proven she belongs heading up her own show, somewhere bigger than Fox.

Allison Tolman

If you loved Tolman in Fargo — and even if you didn’t — she’ll blow you away with her Mad Dogs performance. So, it’s utterly depressing to hear she took on an ABC pilot called Downward Dog, in which she owns a dog that communicates with the audience. Say it with me: UGH.
