On another stop in Josh Charles’ The Good Wife goodbye tour, he stopped by ESPN last night to co-anchor Keith Olbermann ESPN show (Olbermann is far less grating when he’s getting outraged about athletes). Charles runs down the top sports headlines, gives a shout-out to his Baltimore Orioles, and kicks it off with a perfect Sorkin-esque story about history repeating itself.

It’s good stuff, but Keith is no Casey McCall.

I woke up halfway through the segment during the 4AM Central rebroadcast and had to really check and see that I was awake and that it really was Josh Charles and that somebody hadn't spiked my drink earlier in the evening.

    Let's go O's!

I watched Sports Night after I'd watched the West Wing and I wonder if I would have liked it better if I'd watched it first. It was just so overly earnest and cheesy. The characters were just like the characters from the West Wing only way more annoying. Dan is the only character I didn't hate.

    Dan > Will.
Is anyone else freaked out by how ageless he is? He and Rob Lowe are freaky. Also, Lowe/Charles show would be awesome. make it so, someone.

A Josh Charles/Rob Lowe series with Sorkin as a writer would easily get consideration as one of my top three favorite shows ever, completely unseen.

oh, oh, you know who do we need there too? the guy who was CJ's suitor on the west wing and the director in studio 60. he is quite happy being a successful tv director these days, but his comic timing is perfect, i wish he would work more on camera.

He'll always be the first baseman from Little Big League for me. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

LOVE. Olbermann has actually become nightly viewing in my household, because we're hooked on his righteous indignation about things both very important and very banal.

It wasn't till his rant on the Gerald McCoy situation last fall ( though till I realized that the reason I watch him now is 100% because I miss Sports Night so very very much. Dan and Casey's Very Serious On-Camera Moralizing was one of my favorite parts of the show.
