Last night in UTAH House Oversight Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz — who led the charge in the Benghazi hearings, but will not investigate Trump’s conflicts of interests — held a town hall. It didn’t go well. The crowd showed up in huge numbers to hold Chaffetz accountable, and what did that little weasel do? He left 40 minutes early, because he couldn’t stand the heat.
I followed along on Twitter last night, and it really was beautiful to behold. Here are the highlights.
The auditorium was packed to capacity, with 1100 people in it (and hundreds outside, who couldn’t get in). What’s it feel like to be a Congressman confronted by that many people shouting, “Do your job! Do your job!” This chant actually came right after someone asked him why he wasn’t investigating Trump.

This is exactly right.
The #chaffetztownhall is a master class for #womansmarch and #resist movements. In person, on mass, on their turf. Not petitions and email

This is maybe not the crowd you should be telling that Mike Pence is a decent human being. The boos ring out!

This teacher is amazing. If there’s one clip to watch, it’s this one. She says to Chaffetz that as a teacher, she can almost always tell if a student is going to be a problem child after two or three weeks. “It’s been two or three weeks,” she says, of the Trump Administration.

Here’s a woman who, thanks to Planned Parenthood, managed to survive cancer, graduate college, and stay alive to be a mother for her children. She has a terrific story.

Here, a reporter asks a police officer outside of the Town Hall charged with controlling the crowds what he thinks of all the protestors. The police officer’s response will GIVE YOU LIFE.
“I love Democracy!”

Yeah, I’m raising my hand a little right now.
Raise your hand if you love Utah a little more tonight after seeing them get feisty at the #chaffetztownhall
