Earlier today, Dustin reported that some high-profile Republicans are self-quarantining after potentially having been exposed to COVID-19 at a Conservative Political Action Conference. Among them is Paul Gosar, a House of Representatives member out of Arizona. His possible brush with COVID-19 seems to have this dentist-turned-politician turning philosophical.

Gosar took to Twitter to post: “Been thinking about life and mortality today. I’d rather die gloriously in battle than from a virus. In a way it doesn’t matter. But it kinda does.”

Here’s the tweet, complete with a still from the 2018 South Korean movie The Great Battle.

Unknown is whether Gosar actually has contracted the virus, why he chose this image to illustrate his heroic death wish, or if he’s ever seen the Kim Kwang-sik film depicted. Regardless, the congressman’s deep thoughts about death sparked a big reaction on Twitter, chiefly as a meme.
