Valentine’s Day falls on this Friday, so all of you can’t say you forgot if your significant other is into that whole deal. Lots of people choose to go out to dinner on the day itself, forgetting that every other person in the country is doing the same thing and expecting to receive specialized service from an already overwhelmed wait staff at a restaurant likely to run out of any limited specials.
I’ve never been a waitress, but I did work as a florist for a while. I can tell you that the number of men - always men - coming in before we closed to buy dying flowers to avoid going home empty-handed are the same ones that don’t understand why they can’t just walk into an eatery on February 14 every year. These are the people that end up giving the wait staff magnificent stories to tell to strangers on Reddit, which means we get to read them too.
Thanks for your service, waiters, waitresses, and u/Hamsternoir.
