To grease the wheels of your morning while the staff tries to find something worthy to write about today, here’s J.D. Vance completely biffing a fistbump. And honestly, the initial attempt to meet a fist pump with a handshake is not the worst part. The worst part is when he tries to save the moment by turning to the guy on his left and offering a random fistbump. It truly belongs on the r/WatchPeopleDieInside subreddit.

I would also remind everyone that it is after Labor Day now. The polls count. Harris holds a consistent lead nationally (I haven’t seen a legit poll show an advantage for Trump in weeks now). But it’s a tie in Pennsylvania, Nevada, and Georgia. She needs either Pennsylvania OR Georgia AND Nevada, in addition to Wisconsin and Michigan (where she is winning) to defeat Donald Trump. In other words, despite everything that’s happened in the last month, it is still somehow tied in the Electoral College.
Sadly, making fun of J.D. Vance’s fist bumps will not move the needle. We need to convince Pennsylvania voters to choose Kamala and ensure they show up at the polls on election day. It might help to gently remind voters that, if Trump wins, there is a very strong possibility — given Trump’s age and cognitive decline — that Vance could be the President before the end of Trump’s term. Nobody wants that.
The first — and likely only — Presidential debate is in six days.
