Anthony Hopkins is the venerable and venerated acting industry veteran who over the course of decades has blessed the silver screen with performances in iconic films like The Silence of the Lambs, The Elephant Man, and The Remains of the Day. His is a storied career, replete with accolades and acclaim. He is also one of a dying breed—actors drawn from Britain’s working class, who pulled themselves up by skill and graft with the help of a system that still provided some opportunities to those who were born with none. Nowadays, if you’re not born the third Earl of Cumberbatchshire or literally raised in your family’s ancestral castle, you might as well go choke on chimney soot, for all the support the neoliberal-ravaged state will give you.

So yeah—Anthony Hopkins. He’s cool. He’s also become a kooky social media presence in his 9th decade on Earth, as Kristy has documented before. It is that side of Hopkins we’re celebrating today, with a slightly older video that I’ve nevertheless just discovered now and which I have watched about so many times on repeat now I feel like I’m losing my mind a little bit and maybe I’ve actually been miniaturised and placed in a glass box by Anthony Hopkins who is now revelling in the power he has over me? It could happen. Look at him:

Also this is a blessed remix:
