Is it any less weird, when you’re in the same country?
Because for those of us in Europe, looking across the pond at the unfortunate and dystopian state your executive branch finds itself in, watching Donald Trump pioneering the Twitter Presidency is one hell of a surreal experience.
I guess you have to give him props, in a way. He’s a 71-year-old man named Donald, and yet there he is, live-Tweeting an apocalypse of his own making. My grandparents all died before the whole social media thing took off but I can near guarantee that had they lived to see it they wouldn’t have embraced it as wholeheartedly as Donald Trump.
Truly it’s a phenomenon unlike any other, this half-senile orange reality TV fraud holding the highest office in the land, and using that position mostly as a platform to mouth off on an asinine social media platform best suited to one-liners and Dadaist observations. Psychological whiplash doesn’t begin to cover it.
What’s most ‘fun’ is when he has a go at someone famous, and then that famous person has a go right back. If this wasn’t all so depressing it’d be the greatest show on Earth. For example, here is Trump picking a fight with Michel Moore, and Michael Moore firing back:
Like I said: It’d be so much fun if it wasn’t all so damn depressing.
