This Can't Be A Good Idea: 'Let's Kill Ward's Wife' Trailer

So this little gem gets a limited release tomorrow.

Don’t be swayed by the fact that it has a bunch of your favorite actors. It’s going to be bad. I can say that with almost complete certainty for one simple reason: Ward’s wife’s death is an accident. Sure, they talk about killing her, they hypothetically plan it to an extent, and Scott Foley cake assaults her. But her actual death is an accident. And that’s the downfall of most black comedies.

You need to commit, people. Having the main characters murder someone puts them outside of an moral code. It’s why It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia works. It’s why Archer works. It’s why Very Bad Things failed. It’s not funny to watch mostly good people make a series of bad decisions. In fact it looks unrealistic and fairly misogynistic. But watching horrible people do increasingly horrible things? Yeah, I’d watch that all day.
