This is why people lose their shit over Jon Stewart.

Jon and The Daily Show took on the shockingly racist video out of the University of Oklahoma, and nailed the systemic racism and hypocrisy exposed by the media’s reaction to it.

Hey, Morning Joe? I mean this sincerely and deeply: Fuck you.

1) Most intelligent white kids know not to use that term even if they’ve heard it in hip hop.

2) While a reclaimed familial, version of the N- word is often used in hip hop songs, I’m pretty sure none of those asshat, racist frat boys heard Jay-Z rapping about how “you can hang them from a tree.”

Because surprisingly, the use of the N- word is the least racist thing about the chant. Oh, it’s the flashing, neon warning sign that let’s you know the speaker is a racist, but the other parts of the chant are somehow more offensive. Like when they joke about lynching black people. Or when they openly acknowledge they’d never sign a black pledge. Those “kids” didn’t learn that shit from listening rap, not even the gangsta version. They learned it from a centuries old power structure that perpetuates stereotypes about dangerous black people, and minimizes the criminal or unethical actions of white people. Kinda like what you just did by blaming a group of white people shouting a racist chant on black music.

So again, fuck you.
