Tarantino's Foul-Mouthed Slate Operator is Today's Funniest Woman

I dunno about you but I’ve been having a rough week. So when I stumble across someone like Ms. Geraldine Brezca, 2nd Assistant Camera on Quentin Tarantino’s Inglorious Basterds and sometimes known as Tarantino’s Camera Angel, I am very grateful indeed. Brezca started out as a camera intern on Jackie Brown, and by the time Tarantino’s masterpiece rolled round in 2009 she was providing the best example of slate operation I’ve ever seen.

What’s that old saying? There’s not many pleasures greater in life than seeing someone do their job with joy? Something like that. Well there are even less pleasures greater than watching Geraldine Brezca snap all the performers instantly into their scenes with her hilarious, creative, and foul-mouthed improvised riffs on the letters of the scene shots.

It’s a shame I didn’t find this earlier as I would have absolutely included it in Tori’s Happy Tips roundup. But better late than never. Enjoy:

God bless this woman.
