Did you forget that yesterday was Mother’s Day? So you probably forgot to get your mom a gift or at least give her a phone call? Then you need to make it up to her, and you need to make it up big. You could go with a bunch of nice flowers, or dinner at a fancy restaurant. But if you have any sway in Congress, you might want to make sure that Papua New Guinea doesn’t leave us as the only country in the world to not offer paid parental leave.
And don’t worry. Last Week Tonight has already gone to the trouble of finding the perfect Mother’s Day card for anyone in the United States attempting to birth a child and not become financially ruined by it.
