'Galavant' Returns With A New Song And Plenty Of Shade
Last January, I recapped the premiere season of the fantastical, funny and admittedly flawed musical comedy Galavant. And even those of us who couldn’t get enough of its wacky songs, celebrity cameos and all things Timothy Omundson admitted it was unlikely a show this unusual would get a season two. But hey! That happened!
Galavant season two will kick off Sunday, January 3rd with an episode called, “A New Season Aka Suck It Cancellation Bear.”
Like last time, ABC will air two episodes every Sunday night, this time for five weeks. And Deadline reports those eps will offer a whopping 32 new songs from songwriting duo Alan Menken and Glenn Slater. The site also has a preview of the first song of the new season, which boasts Hugh Bonneville’s return as that scurvy land pirate, mention of the outlandish series Emmy snub, digs at its TV rivals like football, the Golden Globes, The Bachelor and The Apprentice, as well as a helpful recap featuring the whole damn cast!
Regrettably, the video is not embeddable. Click the perky pirate to go see it.
