'Downton Wars' Is Everything We Never Knew We Needed
This is one of those posts where I very much just want to drop a video with absolutely no explanation and walk away. Because I don’t know, guys. I just don’t know. This whole thing seems delightful, but it’s still early and I was up late watching the Emmys and then up early to read all of the recaps and watching Thomas and Bates lightsaber duel has pushed every reasonable thought out of my head.
Perhaps an explanation for the video’s origin is in order. Turns out
fanfic is a powerful force and some dreams do come true Rob James-Collier aka that bastard Thomas from Downton Abbey ran the London Marathon to raise money for the Chiltern MS Center. He filmed Downton Wars: Episode 1 during the breaks on the Downton set using only his iPhone, and released the video as an incentive to donate. Episode 2 was just release as our reward and maybe as a sign that god exists and that he loves us. I still don’t know. Let’s go to the tape.
1.) It’s really refreshing to realize that the entire cast of Downton are probably pretty cool people.
2.) Rob James-Collier can write a significantly better Star Wars script than George Lucas can.
3.) This is my new reason for living:
If we can get a petition or something going that replaces Liam Neeson with Maggie Smith in Taken 4: Now They’ve Gone After My Cat, I will happily become its most vocal supporter.
