Christmas Is Dead Now, Everyone: Darlene Love's Last Appearence on Letterman

Quick, what’s your favorite Christmas song? Wrong. It’s Darlene Love’s “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home).” Or at least it should be*. In a world of either cloying, overly- sentimental, hushed nonsense (ahem, “Little Drummer Boy”) or want to be rock hits that fail miserably (“Rocking Around The Christmas Tree,” I’m looking in your direction), “Baby Please Come Home” is an actual song. One that kicks ass. And Love’s yearly appearance on The Late Show was always a highlight.

Thanks for this, Dave. You’ll be missed more than you know.
