Rob Thomas, the guy who brought us Veronica Mars and Party Down, is primed to unearth his latest creation. Based on the comic by Chris Roberson and Michael Allred, iZombie sounds like the bastard child of Veronica Mars and Warm Bodies. Which is to say, we’re curious.

Rose McIver stars as the cruelly named Liv Moore, a recent zombie convert who is less mindless and moaning and more medical student whose found a great source for her favorite food. BRAAAAAAAINS!

You get the gist from the opening credit sequence, courtesy of CBR:

But that’s not all, boys and ghouls! We’ve also wrangled some clips from Blastr.

Basically, Liv not only gets a sustainable food source out of the brains of the dead that cross her autopsy table. She also gets flashes of their lives, which could help her solve murder cases. Yet she must hide the source of her insights, because this trigger-happy world is not ready for civilized zombies.

And apparently Liv isn’t alone. Here’s she and an unnamed fellow brain-biter discussing “full-on zombie mode.”

Personally, I’m always game for a sassy sleuth sister to join the ranks of Veronica, Buffy, Chuck, Phryne, Maddie or Jessica Fletcher. Bring it, Liv.

iZombie debuts Tuesday night at 9PM on CW.

Kristy Puchko hasn’t thought of you lately. At all.
