Saturday Night Live has developed something of a weird routine this season.
1.) Announce exciting host.
2.) Release promising promo.
3.) Perform often mediocre show.
4.) Release cut-for-time sketch that was better than something that actually aired.
Step 1 was accomplished weeks ago when Amy Adams signed on to host the last show of the year. Step 2 was just completed with this promo:
“Stupid proposal tree” gets me every time. Plus I always forget that Adams is funny. Between the dramatic acting skills and the looks, it’s hard to keep track of her good qualities.
We’ll have to check back about step 3, but here’s your step 4:
Ok, it’s a little weird and it’s definitely not the best sketch of the night, but it’s significantly better than the waterbed commercial.
