I think we can all agree that there’s almost no face in the world more recognizable than this one:
But today, Good Morning America , an allegedly trusted American news source, included his “none of my business” tea-drinking meme in this selection of popular memes:
Does #CryingLeBron join other meme greats like #tealizard, #CryingJordan and #smockin / the mask? Tweet us! pic.twitter.com/4xoDahAk1Q
— Good Morning America (@GMA) June 21, 2016
Wait… what? Did they….
Oh.. Oh they did. Y’all, Good Morning America has been under the impression that Kermit the Frog is a lizard. Like apparently this whole time? We here at Pajiba were clutching our pearls and dropping our own respective tea cups in shock, but luckily Twitter was able to step up and make sure that GMA knows they did a bad thing.
There was shock.
I just found out about the #tealizard thing and I'm dying a thousand deaths

There was anger.
I'm blocking all lizard truthers on sight. I don't care if it's sarcasm. Kermit is a frog. Be cute in my Mentions if you want to. #TeaLizard

There was corporate mockery.
The embarrassing thing for ABC is that the GMA social media team apparently doesn't watch their own network's shows #TheMuppets #tealizard

There were potential new endorsements.

There were some dark times.

And finally, there were actual Tea Lizards:

One Twitter user summed it up best.
@WhovianFeminism @GMA they've created a new meme by failing to name an old meme. Memes birthing Memes. Truly a golden age.

UPDATE:
Good Morning America has issued a formal apology:
Twitter has spoken: #CryingLeBron does not join other popular memes.
— Good Morning America (@GMA) June 21, 2016
(Sorry, @KermitTheFrog.) pic.twitter.com/bWmvZQyhJ6
And according to reports, they are placing the blame soley at the feet of this random tweet from months ago:
I understand not liking crying Jordan but to not like the tea lizard. Jesus
