I hope that everyone in America had a great Thanksgiving. I’m sorry that I’m about to ruin it by talking about … Fruity Pebbles. Why? Because it’s the topic du jour for fans of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.
It started in season one when, as a gag, Whitney gifted Demi (above, left) a box of Fruity Cereal. At the time, it was an inside joke that Demi did not appreciate. The viewing audience, however, did not understand to what it referred, though we did understand it to be sexual in nature.
Cut to season three: Demi and Jessi (above, right) have a huge falling out over who did and did not have an affair with Marciano Brunette on season two of Vanderpump Villa. Jessi admitted that she had an emotional affair, although much of season two was devoted to whether it was emotional or physical. We may never know, but most of the Mormon Wives — and Jessie’s husband — eventually settled on it being just an emotional affair, involving a kiss or two.
The controversy spiraled, however, over how involved Demi was with Marciano Brunette. Initially, Demi admitted — even to her husband — that she was flirty with Brunette, but when word got out that it may have been more than that, Demi alleged that Marciano touched her without her consent. We may never know the truth of that, either.
That didn’t stop the Mormon Wives from feuding over the question, and that feud centered on Demi and Jessi. By the end of season three, it seemed like Jessi and Demi had come to a tenuous truce. However, the off-season has proven that decidedly is not the case.
This is where Fruity Pebbles comes in. The whole ordeal blew up again when Lisa Vanderpump defended Marciano at BravoCon, and Demi reportedly commented that Jessi is “somewhere punching air right now because Lisa is talking about me and not her.”
Jessi didn’t take kindly to the pettiness of that comment and finally revealed on TikTok the inside joke behind the Fruity Pebbles. “So, since she wants to be petty and be an asshole,” Jessi said, “I think I’m just going to go ahead and say that [Demi’s husband] Grandpa Bret likes to drink her [urine] like it’s dirty soda. He gulps it down like water, and that’s what ‘Fruity Pebbles’ is.”
Did we need to know that? We did not.
“What my husband and I did one-time behind closed doors, was a consensual and private experience in our marriage,” Demi has since responded. “I won’t let a private act between my husband and I be a distraction from a serious act that I did not consent to. I shared this information with Jessi in confidence nearly two years ago. It’s very telling that she’s choosing to break storyline and bring it up now, only after her own affair has come to light.”
So, there you go, folks. That’s what Fruity Pebbles refers to, and the feud between Lisa and Demi is clearly still ongoing, of which Hulu is undoubtedly thrilled. It will undoubtedly be a topic of conversation on next week’s season three reunion of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.
Aren’t you glad you stopped by on Black Friday?
