Three Trailers: Donald Glover's Latest, 'Snowpiercer' Finale, and 'Cobra Kai's' Tri-Part Ending

Donald Glover’s career continues to be a winding path through a forest of oddities. His latest project, Bando Stone & the New World, is a self-directed film and a full-length album that will be released under the name Childish Gambino. The single he released earlier this week, Lithonia, has a vaguely Ben Folds vibe going for it. The movie has a lot going on. It’s a post-apocalyptic mailman adventure in sports shorts and also stars Jessica Allain (The Continental)

There’s a trailer and a soundtrack but no distributor or release date yet. Donald, you’re going to have to update us on this one.

Later this month Snowpiercer returns for its fourth and final season on AMC and AMC+. The show is based on the 2013 film by Bong Joon-ho, which is itself an adaptation of a French graphic novel. I can’t speak to the series’ quality because I noped out after the whole reveal about what Chris Evan’s character had to eat in the movie. But I’m a fan of Jennifer Connelly and Daveed Diggs, so I assume they are pretty good. And surely some of you are sad to see it go.

Snowpiercer season 4 premieres on July 21st.

Netflix’s Cobra Kai is also beginning its final season this summer. Well, “season” because they’re splitting it into three parts. The first part of the final season premieres on July 18th, the second part on November 28th, and the final part will air sometime in 2025. That sounds like three seasons to me, but what do I know?

Ralph Macchio will return for the finale(s) as Daniel LaRusso. He’s joined by William Zabka, Martin Kove, Xolo Maridueña, Jacob Bertrand, Mary Mouser, Tanner Buchanan, Peyton List, Gianni DeCenzo, Courtney Henggeler, Vanessa Rubio, Dallas Dupree Young, Yuji Okumoto, Alicia Hannah-Kim, Griffin Santopietro and Oona O’Brien.

For this week’s lagniappe, I was watching the Cricket World Cup last week (as you do) and saw the trailer for Kill no less than six thousand times. It’s being billed as the goriest, most violent movie to come out of India and was released here and in the UK on July 4th. But it’s in Hindi. So naturally someone has to remake it in English.

Once again I am begging audiences to learn how to read subtitles because this movie looks perfect as is. I don’t know where it’s playing but check out this version before the remake if you can.
