Thank God We Have Ryan Murphy To Tackle the Aaron Hernandez Story with Nuance and Sensitivity

When I think about all the people who could tackle the Aaron Hernandez story with nuance and sensitivity, obviously Ryan Murphy is at the top of the list! The guy is behind 12 seasons of American Horror Story, Nip/Tuck, Glee, that Jeffrey Dahmer series on Netflix, and, uh, Eat, Pray, Love. Clearly, he should take a movie’s worth of material about a mentally disturbed NFL player who committed murder before taking his life in prison and turn it into an eight-episode series. That way, we really get to know the man convicted of murder (and indicted in a double homicide) before he commits his crimes.

Here’s the trailer for a show that I will watch the shit out of and feel guilty about, even though it doesn’t even look good on Ryan Murphy’s terms. I also love that they randomly got Patrick Schwarzenegger to play Tim Tebow. Why not? And Norbert Leo Butz to play Bill Belichick. That’s actually decent casting. But knowing Murphy, he’ll find a way to bring Hernandez back from the dead midway through the series and have him join a witch coven with Sarah Paulson and Lily Rabe or something. But seriously, he’s definitely going to end it with all those jokes made about Hernandez at the Tom Brady roast, right?
