The Newest Trailer For 'The Punisher' Is Here
As we get closer and closer to the (possible) release date for The Punisher—
(attorneys from Marvel’s legal department clear their throats)
…excuse me, Marvel’s The Punisher (as opposed to Tyler Perry’s The Punisher, which would be just as watchable and entertaining to watch as Alex Cross), Marvel and Netflix have been doing their part to whet many a person’s appetite and pique their curiosity. From releasing the episode titles in Morse Code on the show’s official Twitter account, to recently showing some brief footage of Frank Castle a.k.a. The Punisher (played by Jon Bernthal) emerge victorious in what looked like the worst game of paintball since Friday The 13th Part 6: Jason Lives, to remaining absolutely silent as to when the show’s premiere date will be, outside of the rumor that it will be released sometime this November.
And now we have the full trailer for The Punisher—
(attorneys from Marvel’s legal department clear their throats once again)
Will you shut the fuck up?! Damn!
As I was saying, we now have the full trailer for The Punisher (a.k.a. Marvel’s The Punisher, not to be confused with National Lampoon’s The Punisher):
So for two-and-a-half minutes, we get to see Frank have flashbacks to happier times with his wife and children before they were murdered, explain how he was once part of one of those dreaded ‘covert CIA operations that went horribly wrong,’ reunite with
the true love of his life, according to Tumblr Karen Page (played by Deborah Ann Woll), who is still working hard as a reporter for the Not-Daily Bugle ever since Ben Urich was pointlessly killed off because of some bullshit mandate from Marvel, join forces with who I assume to be Microchip (played by Ebon Moss-Bachrach), the computer hacker/weapons specialist and the Robin to his Batman, and go after the Big Bad who is responsible for killing his family in order to get to him (possibly played by legendary character actor Paul Schulze, who has appeared in more movies and television shows than you can shake Daredevil’s billy club at.) All to the soothing and mellow sounds of Metallica performing “One.”
Even Vincent D’Onofrio (a.k.a Wilson “Kingpin” Fisk from Daredevil and also Jodi’s alternate-universe husband) was impressed with what he saw…
Marvel and Netflix are still keeping the premiere date of The Punisher a secret (and they have no intention of giving it away, no matter how much you ask, beg, and plead), though if I had to take a guess as to when the premiere date will be, I’d rule out the weekend of November 3rd which is when Thor: Ragnarok drops in theaters and the show doesn’t need the competition or the distraction, the weekend of November 17th which is when Justice League drops in theaters and that competition and distraction isn’t needed either, and Thanksgiving weekend is when Netflix premieres their adaptation of She’s Gotta Have It. So it’s very likely that The Punisher will premiere on November 10th, which is also Veterans Day weekend.
If I’m wrong about all of that, I look forward to many a person in the Comments responding with many variations of:
