Though no other details were given, NBC confirmed today that America Ferrara will be returning to Cloud 9 for the one-hour series finale of Superstore, which airs on March 25th. It would therefore necessarily follow that the series would return to will-they or won’t-they romance between Amy and Jonah that has dominated much of the six seasons of the series. My guess, in fact, is that Amy will be brought in from corporate to help wind down the operations of the store, which I suspect will be permanently shuttered.

It feels almost imperative that the two end up together in the end. Jonah is not the same without Amy, and it never made much sense that Jonah didn’t go to California with her. She loved Jonah. They lived together. He was a good father-type person to her kids, and there was absolutely nothing keeping Jonah at Cloud 9. Ferrera, however, left the show, while Ben Feldman did not, so weird choices had to be made. Thankfully, the finale will give the series an opportunity to correct those mistakes.

It also wouldn’t make sense to end the series without the show’s biggest star, especially given the fact that Ferrera only recently left the show. Because of the pandemic, her exit at the end of last season was moved to the first two episodes of this season, which was reduced to 15 episodes, meaning that Ferrera will also be featured in nearly a quarter of the final season’s episodes.

Jonah and Amy aside, however, the real question for the finale is whether Dina and Garrett end up together in the end?
