There was a time when Rudy Giuliani was a respected politician. Kind of. Post 9/11, he gave interviews and went on TV displaying the qualities of a leader in a time of chaos. What I have learned since then is that anyone who followed Rudy closely before 9/11 or in the years after knew one simple fact: Rudy Giuliani is an insane person. That has become especially evident in recent years. Rudy’s gaffes, goofs, and screw-ups have gotten so bad that he has been banned from FOX News. Seth Meyers couldn’t be happier.
Anyone who watches Late Night with Seth Meyers regularly knows how much Seth likes taking shots at Rudy. It can be argued that Meyers’s time at Impression Camp was used to beef up his Giuliani impression. Well, that and his Vince Vaughn. Meyers brings up Giuliani so much that when news of his FOX ban broke, Meyers spent almost 13 minutes dunking on Rudy. Usually, the Closer Look segments cover a couple of topics. Meyers does discuss the recently concluded Arizona audit, but make no mistake, this is Rudy time!
To make it even better, you can practically smell the excitement emanating off of Meyers. He goes over every aspect of this story with the glee of a Mall Elf on their first day. You know, before their Christmas spirit is thoroughly crushed. Seth’s excitement is infectious. You’d almost think that Giuliani personally wronged him at some point, and now he’s getting his sweet revenge. All he had to do was wait and let Rudy dig his own cable news grave.
FOX has denied the ban, but let’s be real. They may not want Rudy on their network, but they’re not going to publicly humiliate him. Rudy can do that all on his own.
