— There were six seasons of House of Cards, which was basically the first big Netflix series, and it feels like it premiered a decade ago. It just finished its run. Meanwhile, Grace and Frankie, which started in 2015, has just been renewed for a … sixth season. It will launch next year. That’s crazy. Time flies.

— Speaking of Netflix, Ricky Gervais (ugh) has a series debuting on the streaming network in March. The six-part series After Life is described thusly: “Tony (Gervais) had a perfect life. But after his wife Lisa dies, Tony changes. After contemplating taking his own life, he decides instead to live long enough to punish the world by saying and doing whatever he likes from now on. He thinks it’s like a Super Power — not caring about himself or anyone else — but it turns out to be tricky when everyone is trying to save the nice guy they used to know.”

In other words, it’s a narrative excuse for Ricky Gervais to say lots of things that would piss everyone off if anyone actually cared enough to watch a Ricky Gervais series.

— January Jones (Mad Men) is set to star in a figure-skating drama for Netflix called Spinning Out. It’s created by Samantha Stratton, a former figure skater. She’ll play opposite her co-lead, Kaya Scodelario.

— While Netflix takes its Marvel’s series out behind the woodshed and puts them down, Marvel’s AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D is somehow still on. It returns for a sixth season in July, and Anthony Michael Hall has been enlisted for a role.

— Jason Katims (Friday Night Lights, Parenthood) has left NBC for an overall deal with Apple streaming.

Better Things season three will debut on FX on February 28th. It will be without Louis C.K.’s involvement. The trailer looks great.

— We’ll be getting a Beth backstory soon on This Is Us, complete with Phylicia Rashad (who will play her mother) and Goran ViÅ¡njić, who has scored a recurring role as a teacher of Beth in that backstory.

Finally, I leave you with this, the entire excuse for this post, because it is amazing:
