Just a quick update here: Yesterday, it was reported that Scrubs had lost a showrunner, but the reboot officially has a premiere date: Wednesday, February 25. It will air two episodes on premiere night, then share the hour with Abbott Elementary. That’s a good pairing.

ABC also released the first image from the forthcoming season (above), which shows Donald Faison’s Turk attempting to Eagle Zach Braff’s J.D. The first patient of the rebooted Scrubs may just be Turk after his back gives out.

ABC also announced premiere dates for several other series. Beginning Tuesday, January 6, the new Tuesday lineup will be Will Trent, High Fidelity, and The Rookie. Interesting that High Fidelity—the somewhat lighter of the three—won’t lead off the night.

Meanwhile, The Bachelorette premieres on March 22. I’ve never seen The Bachelorette, but that may change now that Taylor Frankie Paul is the Bachelorette. She’s one of the messiest people in all of reality television.

For what it’s worth, American Idol returns on Monday, January 26, and on January 8, ABC will bring back its full Thursday night roster: 9-1-1, 9-1-1: Nashville, and Grey’s Anatomy. I finally quit Grey’s Anatomy. Again. And I watched the pilot episode of 9-1-1: Nashville, which was genuinely one of the worst shows I’ve ever seen. Chris O’Donnell has an embarrassing Southern accent and an estranged love child he hires as a firefighter after seeing him give aid to someone while working as a stripper in a firefighter outfit. LeAnn Rimes is on it, too. But at least they didn’t go to space.
