I’m sorry, but I couldn’t resist this: Jimmy Kimmel returned to Brooklyn this week for a run of shows. During the monologue, he made his usual jokes at the expense of the administration, promised everyone in the audience $5,000 of Guillermo wins Dancing with the Stars (Guillermo will not win Dancing with the Stars), and even renewed his “feud” with Matt Damon.
During the monologue, when Kimmel brings up the Red Sox/Yankees wild-card matchup, which begins tonight, one of the country’s best known Red Sox fans starting chanting from the audience. Kimmel pretends not to know who he is, but decides to throw him out of the auditorium. Damon says “Wait, I’m not even trying to get on the show, I’m just here with family,” and when Kimmel asks him what family he’s with, Damon responds, “I’m here with your mom and your sister.”
So, Kimmel throws out his own mom and sister from the auditorium, while Damon delivers a pristine Boston mom joke: “Hey, you can keep me out of your auditorium, but you can’t keep me out of your mom.” That’s just good Masshole humor.
The Kimmel/Damon feud never gets old.
Unrelated (mostly), but Michael Che has a new stand-up special coming out soon on Netflix, and a clip has surfaced from the show where Che riffs about Colin Jost and Scarlett Johansson. It’s not Boston mom joke, but it’s pretty good, too.
