Mark Ruffalo Welcomes Tatiana Maslany Into the Marvel Family

Yesterday, it was announced that Orphan Black and Perry Mason star Tatiana Maslany had been cast in the title role of Marvel’s She-Hulk series. Veteran TV director Kat Coiro — who also directed the upcoming Valentine’s Day film Marry Me with Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson — has been tapped to direct the pilot and several other episodes in the Disney+ series, while Rick and Morty writer Jessica Gao will be the showrunner.

She-Hulk is Jennifer Walters, an attorney and cousin of Bruce Banner, who inherits the Hulk’s powers after an emergency blood transfusion. She, however, maintains her intelligence even when she Hulks out, much like — I suppose — Hulk/Bruce Banner in Endgame. Speaking of which, Mark Ruffalo himself welcomed Maslany to the family.

Meanwhile, we already know how Captain Marvel feels about Tatiana.

For those who need a refresher, She-Hulk is one of several Marvel series set to debut on Disney+, including The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision, Loki, Hawkeye, Ms. Marvel, and Moon Knight. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and WandaVision were expected to debut earlier this year, but have been pushed until late 2020 (hopefully). She-Hulk is expected in 2022.

In the meantime, the MCU has Black Widow and Eternals ready to go, and 2021 is supposed to see Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and another Spider-Man movie, while 2022 will see Thor: Love and Thunder (with the return of Natalie Portman and the addition of Christian Bale), and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which will also link up with the WandaVision and Loki TV series. A Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is also expected in 2022.
