Movie monsters are made to live rent-free inside your head. They lurk around the corners of your mind, biding their time, waiting to strike. A good monster makes you feel terror, not just in the dark, but even in the light of day. Freddy, Jason, Pennywise, Pinhead, Kevin Spacey, all of them have petrified audiences for decades. Now their time is over, thanks to The Amber Ruffin Show.
In the newest episode of The Amber Ruffin Show, Amber discussed Congressperson and Lady Who Hands Out Toothpaste At Halloween That Somehow Still Has Razor Blades In It Marjorie Taylor Greene. Among Greene’s copious amounts of crazy, it was recently revealed that she taunted and harassed fellow Congressperson Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez at her office two years ago. Before Greene was even elected. Filming it all like a real normal person.
Needless to say, MTG did not take kindly to Amber calling out her dangerous brand of nonsense and showed up in studio, up to her old tricks. It was f***ing terrifying. Greene was played to horrific perfection by Amber Ruffin Show EP/Head Writer Jenny Hagel. Hagel delivers an impression that is equal parts accurate and exaggerated.
The Amber Ruffin Show continues to set itself aside from the pack. The show’s legacy will continue to grow with sketches like this. They have something to say. They know how to say it. They’re funny as hell. What else could you ask for?
Ya know … aside from something a little less nightmare-inducing?
