Laurence Fishburne Has Revealed The Fate Of His 'Hannibal' Character

For the Hannibal fans among you — and though I know it is, that should be all of you — the season two finale ended with quite the cliffhanger, as several characters seemed to be on the brink of death. In fact, to me, most of them looked like they had injuries that were impossible to recover from, but we should never discount the marvels of modern medicine! I mean, if hospitals can deliver a 17-week old baby whose organs have not fully formed and grow that child until a normal 40-week-old baby, what’s a little throat slashing or a three-story fall through a window?

(But seriously, every one of those characters should be dead).

We do now know, thanks to a statement made by Laurence Fishburne, that his character (SPOILERS) will be back next season. Presumably, Jack Crawford survived (and will not simply be a dark passenger to Will Graham). When Fishburne signed up for the new sitcom Black-ish, which will premiere this fall after Modern Family, I assumed his time on Hannibal was up. The shard of glass in his neck seemed to promise as much.

Not so!

“I’m not going to do a full season of ‘Hannibal’ this year, and I’m not going to do a full season of ‘Black-ish,’ which will keep me free enough for both, to have fun and to contribute as best I can,” Fishburne says. “It’s not a problem. It works out just fine.”

Huh.

Anyone know what Caroline Dhavernas is up to? Is she making another show that will require her to split time?
