The lowdown on the episode: All of Cooper’s wells hit, representing 7,000 barrels of oil a day, which presents a problem for him: His girlfriends politely kicks him out of her house because she doesn’t want to be rich or change her humble life, and it appears as Cooper inadvertently got into bed with Galindo, the international oil tycoon played by Andy Garcia, who gets into business with folks to either make or break them. It’s unclear where Cooper sits in that spectrum. Meanwhile, Tommy gets a casket for his late mom, visits his father (Sam Elliot) in a nursing home to tell him when the funeral is, and bond with Cooper. Angela and Ainsley get into a spot of trouble at another nursing home, where they volunteer and provide the old folks with cocktails. Finally, Cami Miller (Demi Moore) seems to have inherited a legal problem from her late husband.

Here’s Taylor Sheridan’s Pearls of Wisdom this week:

Anti-McDs Propaganda: Inexplicably, Sheridan had a scene with some drill workers — who never appear in the episode again — talking about making breakfast burritos with deer meat, contrasting them with McDonald’s breakfast sandwiches. “Venison is about as organic as it gets. No chemicals. No pesticides. That’s clean fuel right there.” (Score: 4.5 out of 10 No duhs, but why?).

Taylor Sheridan’s Painfully Obvious Economic Wisdom: Tommy gets into a one-sided argument with two radio DJs talking about the price of oil. “The cost of gasoline dropping gives more money for people to spend on other goods. And when diesel drops, the cost of the goods goes down, too.” (Score: 2 out of 10 No Sh**s)

Angela’s Homespun Wisdom: “Little in life is certain, but never in human history has a man felt worse after a bl**job.” (Score: 1 out of 10, mostly because I’m familiar with a counterexample that I’m not going to share here)

On Cheerleading: Ainsley refers to the virtues of cheerleading. “It’s kind of like an emotional support group, but with acrobatics.” (Score: 6 out of 10, I mean, sort ofs)

On Women: Tommy, to Cooper, after his girlfriend kicked him out of the house for discovering millions of dollars in oil: “Let me tell you something about women. When they do something irrational like kick you out of the house, you got to sit them down and give them a g**damn good listening to. The girl’s life has been shattered, and however she wants to put it back together, that’s her business. You don’t have a say. So, you just listen and let her put it back together however she sees fit.” (Score: 6.5 out of 10 Pearls of Wisdom)

On Women Part II: “All you gotta do is ask and listen and remember what she said and make it come true.” (Score: 7 out of 10 He Ain’t Wrongs)

On the right amount of flowers for a mother’s funeral: “Oh, I don’t know. Enough to say I tried, but not enough to say I missed her.” (Score: 6 out of 10 I May Steal that Lines)

On parenting: “However you raise your son is how he’s gonna raise his son. And that cycle is almost impossible to break.” (Score 9 out of 10 Pearls of Wisdom)

On your appetite: “The hungrier you are, the better it will taste.” (Score: 7 out of 10 Truer Words Have Seldom Been Spoken)
