Kam Patterson Has Never Watched 'SNL,' Has No Idea Who the Guests Are

So far this season, Kam Patterson has the least amount of screentime among all the cast members, and came in last on five of the seven shows, so far (he appeared on “Update” on the other two). It’s not clear that SNL knows what to do with him, nor is it clear that Kam Patterson knows what to do on SNL.

There may be a reason for that. As Patterson jokes in the clip below, he never watched SNL before he appeared on the series. “I’m 26 and I’m Black. I have never seen the show,” he says. “I have no idea what the f*** I signed up for, dog.”

He also claims that the show “is not for me. It’s for white people,” while joking that the show has on people he’s never heard of, like … Glen Powell and Miles Teller, from a movie he’s never seen, Top Gun Maverick. He also says that SNL is “gay, like really gay,” but in the nicest way possible (apparently, it’s “gay” because the cast members have never shot anyone).

Anyway, I suspect that Kam Patterson will have plenty of time to talk about SNL during “Kill Tony” specials after the summer, but I have a feeling he may only have only one season on the show to bring to his material.
