One of my day jobs pre-pandemic was bartending at various Broadway Theaters. I did it for years, spending that time getting closer and closer to the community, the shows, the lights, the love. When the pandemic hit and Broadway shut down, it made a scary time even scarier. I had seen Broadway weather the worst the world could muster and yet this seemed like a killing blow. Luckily, I was wrong. Broadway will be returning this September and frankly, it’s time to celebrate!!

That was the mood on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon last night. Jimmy brought back his old pal and Broadway superstar, Lin-Manuel Miranda, to hype up Broadway’s big return. What better way to build that hype than a big, flashy musical number!

I cannot describe the amount of absolute joy this number gave me. It’s got everything that makes Broadway great. There are big stars, electric choreography, people belting their faces off, and a feeling of unabashed love. Love for the craft, the art, the community. It’s a feel-good bit that made me more excited for ol’ Broadway’s return than I thought possible.

Broadway is comin’ back, y’all. It’s time to celebrate!
