Is Chris Evans Teasing A Cameo On 'Rick and Morty'?

After years of bringing honor and body-ody-ody to the MCU, Chris Evans seems to be stepping away into new adventures and opportunities. Following Avengers: Endgame, he went deep into drama with Netflix’s The Red Sea Diving Resort. This fall, we’ll see him rip it up in the Rian Johnson murder-mystery Knives Out. But up next, might he be popping up on the premiere of Rick and Morty Season Four?

Here’s the first clue that has me puzzling:

Last night, Evans casually tweeted to his 13.2 million followers a reminder that Rick and Morty returns to television in three weeks. Maybe he’s just excited. We know he’s a fan of the twisted sci-fi cartoon series, as he tweeted praise of it earlier this year.

However, we also know that for Season Four, creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland have lined up some big-name cameos to jump into the deranged dimensions of Rick and Morty. Previously announced, Paul Giamatti, Sam Neill, and Kathleen Turner will all be heard in this new season, as will Taika Waititi, MCU helmer of Thor: Ragnarok and big sloppy fan of Evans.

Let’s consider a moment the connections within the Rick and Morty stunt-casting. In Season 2, Jemaine Clement played Fart, the glowing gas cloud that poops gold and befriends Morty. Clement and Waititi have worked with each other on a slew of projects, including What We Do In The Shadows and Flight of the Conchords, and now the latter is giving Rick and Morty a go as is his Hunt For The Wilderpeople star Sam Neill. Could they have perhaps brought Cap along for the fun too?

We’ll find out when Rick and Morty Season Four premieres on Adult Swim on November 10 at 11:30PM.
