So, how’s everyone’s Wednesday going?
Oh, you’ve gone full Chidi, like I have?
Yeah, things are pretty horrific in the news today. Like basically every day in 2018. Today is particularly bad and scary, because you know, some nut-job is sending bombs to public officials. You can’t sugar coat that, can you?
Do what you have to do to get through this one. I’ve spent the last hour watching music videos from VH1’s Pop Up Video.
I’m not going to sit here and tell you the mid to late 90’s were a simpler time. I was a pre-teen/teenager during that era, so of course my life was simpler. Sometimes it’s nice to revisit stuff from that period in our lives when the world becomes an overwhelmingly scary place—so, you know what? Let’s do that.
Here’s a collection of the best Pop Up Videos I found, which was a show I’m sure I had seen every episode of at least 10 times when it aired on Vh1 back in the day. For those of you who don’t know, Pop Up Video was a 30-min show that was just a collection of music videos, with random facts semi-related to the song, which pops-up as the video plays. It originally ran from 1996-2002, although they tried to reboot it in 2011, but that only lasted a year. Sometimes you just can’t recapture lighting in a bottle
