Here’s something that has absolutely nothing to do with the election: AMC has greenlit a Breaking Bad movie that Vince Gilligan will write, produce and possibly direct. It is not known whether the film will be released theatrically or only air on AMC. Production is set to begin this month under the working title Greenbrier.
We don’t know who will be in the Breaking Bad spin-off, or whether it will be a sequel or a prequel, but is said to follow the escape of a kidnapped man and his quest for freedom. That sounds like a Jesse Pinkman sequel that picks up right here:
And while you might think that a Breaking Bad sequel on top of Better Call Saul is too much Breaking Bad universe, I am here to dissuade you of that. As long as Vince Gilligan (or Peter Gould) are involved, I have 100 percent faith in the outcome. Based on Saul, the team behind the Breaking Bad universe has only gotten better, and I’ll say this, too: If Jesse Pinkman meets Gene in Omaha, I will flip the hell out. In the meantime, I’m stoked that Aaron Paul will be getting some good work again, instead of slumming it in that mediocre Hulu series, The Path.
On the other hand, if Jesse Pinkman meets Rick Grimes in a crossover event, I will cancel AMC forever.
