Do you know how much A+ talent is packed into this video? There are celebs galore hanging out, doing shots, and eating snacks with the always affable Guillermo. I could have picked a name at random, tossed it into the headline, and added “does shots,” and it would have worked. The SEO gods would have looked down on me, smiled, and gotten me those sweet clicks. They are all sure bets, and yet there was a surer bet. One white-hot celeb rises to the top of the pile like a rocket, fueled, in this case, by tequila.
You clicked the link, so you know who I’m talking about. Ayo Edebiri had a hell of a year. She starred in several movies. The hit show The Bear, in which she delivers a knockout performance, dropped an incredible second season. She then won an Emmy for her work on that season. All of that and her Letterboxd account is becoming synonymous with the site itself. She’s a star! And she beat out a lot of other stars to headline this article.
To be clear, I am no tastemaker. I’m not breaking news or saying anything that hasn’t been said. I just wanted to point out that, in a video with Jennifer Coolidge, Quinta Brunson, the whole cast of The Bear and stone cold smoke show John Oliver, the choice of Ayo Edebiri doing shots with her parents was a no-brainer.
This whole video is great. Everyone seems relaxed and genuinely excited to see Guillermo (and his snacks and booze). In what is, I’m sure, a marathon of meet and greets and interviews, it must be nice to hang out and have a shot with your parents.
