The long-awaited grand opening of Vanderpump Rules stars Ariana Madix’s and Katie Maloney’s sandwich shop, Something About Her, is finally happening on May 22nd, the co-owners announced last night on Watch What Happens Live!

They first announced their plans to open the shop in 2022, but say they’ve faced permitting, licensing, and staffing issues ever since. Most recently, they parted ways with their former “partner” (just what the parameters of the partnership were remain unclear) chef Penny Davidi, a long-time collaborator of Lisa Vanderpump.

Just how much face time the owners will be putting in is questionable. Maloney doesn’t have a whole lot else going on other than a podcast in partnership with Bachelor Nation’s Nick Viall, but Madix is busier than she’s ever been—she just finished her brief run in Broadway’s Chicago and now will be taking over as the host of Love Island USA. It’ll also be a while until we get any footage of the shop, as Bravo insiders have said that VR filming is currently on pause.

The show usually films during the summer, but the network feels the cast needs a break after two intense seasons.

“Everyone needs a moment to decompress,” a source told Page Six.

I think even the fans need a moment to decompress. Season 11 has been bleak so far, with Madix and her ex Tom Sandoval still living together but only speaking through assistants, and forcing all of their friends to listen to them scream at each other when they’re invited to the same party. It’s getting old, but whether Madix will even return when filming does resume now that she’s bought her own house and has ten other jobs is…doubtful. The rest of these people are too old to still be doing this. Add a couple more babies to the mix and they could all just migrate over to their spinoff The Valley, which follows married 40-somethings raising children and getting divorced.

I think (hope) Madix and Maloney are better than that. If I were them, I’d take that sandwich money and run.
